Top 5 Hair Tips for Black Hair

1. Indian gooseberry or Amla

As we all know, amla is rich in vitamin C. It is full of health benefits – be it for your guts or skin or hair. So, if you have been worrying about how to keep your hair black and save yourself from gray hair, you can try applying amla juice on your scalp.

2. Scalp Massages

Massaging your scalp for 20-30 minutes per day is a great habit to get into.  It increases blood flow to the scalp area and can stimulate growth.

This may be especially helpful if you have thinning edges from relaxers or weaves.  If your hair is not permanently damaged, this could help your hair grow back.

If you cannot sit and do the scalp massage all at once, do it several times per day in smaller intervals.

3. Black Tea Remedy

Black tea works best with prematurely grey hair, and is simple to make—you only need two ingredients. You can leave the tea in for up to two hours, or you can leave it in for less time and apply it more frequently. The number of times you use this black tea rinse will have a cumulative effect—the more you do it, the greater the effect.

Ingredients:

  1. 2 tablespoons black tea leaves
  2. Water

Directions:

  1. Boil the tea leaves in water.
  2. Allow the tea to cool down to room temperature.
  3. Strain out the tea leaves, then apply the tea to your hair. If you have long hair, one of the easiest ways to apply the tea is to pour it into a small spray bottle. Spray the tea into your hair and brush to make sure that the tea is spread evenly.
  4. After roughly 1 hour (you can go as long as 2 hours), rinse the tea out with cold water. Do not shampoo.

4. Olive Oil:

Olive oil can penetrate the hair cortex and moisturize the hair from within. This strengthens hair color and keeps it black. It also reduces hair damage and hair loss.
